--What are the Issues--
Hawk pilot Finn Erickson and drone pilot Lia Murphy have been battling it out for a while, but when a bet leads to a one night stand they both realize there might be something real between them. Except being together means taking a chance on losing someone and both Finn and Lia haven't depended on someone else in a long time.
--What I Liked--
Once again, I am loving this alien invasion series and how it just keeps developing. This one is focused on getting communication with other survivors in hopes of finding a global plan to stop the Gizzida. Finn and Lia are required to work together and this ratchets up their attraction and makes them realize that pushing people away doesn't relieve the pain. In typical pilot fashion, Finn is a very confident and cocky but he's thankfully not annoying. Lia herself is very confident in her skills and I loved watching these two butt heads.
--What I Would Have Liked--
Now that the Blue Mountain Base survivors have been at the Enclave for about two months, I was hoping to meet some new characters. Granted, I still want the stories for all our current characters but I also wanted some new characters to be introduced.

Another solid entry to a fast paced exciting sci-fi series. I enjoyed Finn and Liz's story the attraction a nd passion was not and the developing relationship fun to watch unfold. I can't wait for the next one ☺
Ok. I have read the series in order up to now. I have a few favorites but really. This one almost had me yelling out loud in my office break room. So many things going wrong. New weird alien creations. But man that was great read!!!! Loved this one!
I really like this series but, it's really getting too far out there with all these strange alien animals. What's the point? Why are these aliens still hanging around? I thought they went around to different planets. What's with all the rexses, hell hounds, gorillas? Seriously, if their filled with poisen that eats through steel and concrete why don't our brilliant science guy bring a dead one back to find out what it's made of to be able to hold all this costic acid inside. Huh? I'm thinking body armor.
I purchased Finn at 12 midnight and just finished reading it. BRAVA!!!!!!!!!!!! As always, Ms. Hackett's writing is outstanding. I supremely enjoyed the storyline, Finn and Lia are amazing. I also enjoy how she continues to include the other characters from her other books in the storylines. I cheered out loud at the end and cannot wait for Devlin in December. You, Ms. Hackett, are my all-time favorite author in this genre. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, continue to write. I have not been more excited about a series since Harry Potter!!!!! BRAVA, BRAVA, BRAVA!!!!!!!!!!
This can be read as a stand-alone, but it is more enjoyable when the series is read in order. The author has done a wonderful job creating this futuristic world. The story has action, humor, aliens, and very steamy romance. Finn and Lia have made appearances in previous books, but now they get their own story. The story moves along quickly and once you start reading, it is very hard to put down. Many twists, turns, and surprises make the story a wild ride of entertainment. While the main characters get their HEA, the main story arc continues from book to book. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!
Hot and sexy couple from the get-go with heart-stopping aerial battles with aliens, Anna Hackett will push your comfort zone with this tenth Hell Squad book.
Was this the first book from pilots' point-of-view vs ground troops? For someone who is afraid of heights, the scenes were fast, dizzying and gut-clenching.
And the (scary!) surprises just kept coming with uglier, bigger alien creatures, put readers on edge, nail-biting suspense, I couldn't predict how Finn and Lia would come out of their mission/s alive and in one piece (and not in pieces).
Kudos to Anna for another brilliant Hell Squad book.
Finn is the latest Hell Squad episode and continues the war against the Gizzida, the alien invaders of Earth. The lack of communication with the rest of the world and possible survivors has been spotty at best and frustrating for the survivors in the Enclave. Finn is a Hawk pilot and the best of them. He has flying in his blood and can make a Hawk do his bidding with no problem. He grew up in Norway and that was where his family were when the Gizzida attacked; he hasn't heard from them since the invasion.
Lia Murphy was a supersonic pilot before the invasion. Her mother and her twin were in Sydney when the invasion happened. She knew the moment her twin bond with her sister was broken that her family was gone. Now she is in charge of the drones and their pilots. Ever at odds with Finn because Finn doesn't consider drone operators as pilots, she can't let her attraction for Finn happen because of the distractions it would cause. But a late night bet and a test of skills on simulators finds Finn the winner and he wants her in his bed. When a mission arises to take a signal booster out past the Gizzida and into the Pacific to try to contact the rest of Earth's survivors, Finn has to take the back-seat to Lia and her expertise as a supersonic pilot. But the Gizzida have more surprises for the last of humanity.
